New - Password Reset Feature

Important Security Feature Releasing Soon

FellowshipOne is excited to announce that we will soon release a great new security feature to enhance our security protocols. This new feature will enable users to update their own passwords from outside the Portal. Also, Champions will now trigger password reset emails to users instead of manually updating another user’s password.  Over the coming days, all F1 users will be required to update the password on their account.
In order to prepare for this all-user security update and to ensure a smooth, seamless transition, we are asking that you verify the email address associated with your F1 account to ensure it is active and current. Here are the steps to do that:
To Update Your Email Address Follow These Steps:

  1. Select the account dropdown in the header.
  2. Then select “My Account”.
  3. The email address on file will be listed on the “Notifications” tab.
  4. Check to make sure it is your current email address.
  5. If your email address needs to be changed, please contact your Champion and ask them to update your user email address in the Admin tab.

Special Note for Champions: We encourage you to prepare your team for this important update by reminding them to verify the email associated with their account. To see all email addresses associated with users, run the “A1052E – Portal Users” report.

The security release is scheduled for April 4. Over the days that follow, a password reset will be required for all accounts.  Once the reset occurs, all users will be required to update the password associated with your account before you’re able to log in to the Portal. Here is what can be expected when you log in to Portal for the first time after the prompted password reset:

1.  When you attempt to log in with your old password, you will see the following message:

2.  After selecting the “Reset Password” link, you will be prompted to input your username and church code:

3.  After selecting “Reset,” an email with a link to reset your password will be sent to the email address associated with your user account. If you do not receive this email, you should contact your church’s F1 Champion to confirm the email address associated with your account.

4.  Upon selecting the Password Reset link in the email, you will be taken to a Portal page where a new password can be created.

5.  After selecting “Save”, you will be able to log in with the updated password.

We are honored to partner with you to ensure the highest security standards for your accounts and data. If you have any questions about this security update, please see the Frequently Asked Question Section below or contact us at

Will this impact my Windows and iOS Check-in stations?

  • Windows Check-in - After installing Check-in on a PC, a login is required. After that initial login, no login is ever needed again. Therefore, Windows Check-in stations will not be impacted by this update.
  • iOS Check-in - Similar to Windows Check-in, a connection is established with F1 when logging in. As long as the "Log Out" option is not selected, there is no need to re-enter login credentials. iOS will not force a password reset if you do log out. Only the Portal is forcing a reset.

How will this update impact other applications like the Contributions Application, F1 Mobile, Teacher, Coordinator, Insights (Premier edition only), or Dashboard (Core and Select editions only)?
At the time of the release, the FellowshipOne Portal will be the only application that prevents users from logging in without first resetting their password. As a result, users will be able to use these applications with their existing credentials. Once a user changes their password in Portal, that password will then apply to these applications going forward.
How do I reset my password on the FellowshipOne Portal?

  1. Select the “Forgot Password?” link on the FellowshipOne Portal log-in page (
  2. Enter your username and church code, and click “Reset”
  3. An email with a link to reset your password will be sent to the email address associated with your user
  4. If the email is not received, please confirm your associated email address with your FellowshipOne Champion
  5. Click the link within the Password Reset email, which will open a Portal page where the new password can be created.

I’m a Champion. How do I reset another user’s password after the update has occurred?
Portal users with certain security rights can trigger a reset of another Portal user’s password.
A user with the “Password Manager” security right can reset another user’s password by performing the following steps:

  • Go to the Portal Home page
  • In the Staff card, Click the “Portal Users” link
  • Click “View” by the Portal user needing to be reset
  • Click the “Reset Password” button

A user with the “Administrator” and “Security Officer" security rights (both are needed) can reset a user’s password via the Admin tab .

  • Go to Admin > Security Setup > Portal Users
  • Click the action gear by the Portal user needing to be reset
  • Click “Edit user”
  • Click the “Reset Password” button
  • Click “OK” to confirm

Once the reset is triggered, the Portal user will be logged out of FellowshipOne (if they are currently logged in), and unable to log in again until they have successfully reset their password. The user will receive a Password Reset email with a link to reset their password.

I’m a Champion. How do I create a new Portal user?
When a Portal Champion creates a new user, they will no longer set a temporary password when setting up the new user’s account. Instead, upon saving the new user, an email will be sent to the email address associated with the user’s account with a link to set their password. If the link expires or the individual did not receive the email, the Champion can follow the above steps to reset the user’s password and a new email will be sent.

Are there additional security updates planned for the future?
We are currently assessing additional security updates for FellowshipOne and will continue to communicate with our church partners when future updates are planned.
