Purpose & Scope
Protect My Ministry and the Volunteer Pipeline
Procedure
Protect My Ministry is a background check provider that is partially integrated with Fellowship One. The integration is one-way, which means that to submit a background check the user will need to use the Protect My Ministry portal to submit the background check. The integration will then create the requirement and update it when the check is complete.

Setup

Once an account has been created with Protect My Ministry, they will send a request to FellowshipOne to link the account. Once that's been done, the integration will need to be enabled by going, in the FellowshipOne portal, to Admin > Integration > Applications, clicking the link for Protect My Ministry, and clicking the Grant Access button.

A new requirement will need to be created for Protect My Ministry to use. This will be called Protect My Ministry Status and will have the Standard Requirement requirement type. PMM will automatically create one called PMM Background Check with the requirement type Background Check.

Note: The standard requirement will be the one used as a requirement on the volunteer application opportunities. This will prevent the application from requiring the applicant to input their social security number in the application, since they will need to input it in the PMM background check itself.

Volunteer Pipeline Workflow

Submit Application - the applicant will follow the link to the volunteer application and fill it out, or a portal user can submit the application on their behalf.

Screening - in the FellowshipOne Portal, the user assigned to follow-up on the opportunity can go to Volunteer > Pipeline > View Applicants. From here, they can see who has applied and their application to determine whether or not they should continue in the process.

Requirements - this is where the interview and reference processes are processed to determine if the applicant is a good fit for the service opportunity as well as whether they've completed all the necessary requirements. This is the stage where the Protect My Ministry Workflow takes place.

Approved / Removed - these are the final steps. If the applicant has completed all of the requirements and is a good fit for the role, the application is approved. If they are not, it is rejected.

Protect My Ministry Workflow

    1. The portal user responsible for submitting the background check will log in to Ministry Mobilizer via Protect My Ministry's website and import the applicant(s).
    2. They will order the background check manually by entering the Social Security Number, Date of Birth, etc. Alternatively, they may choose to send the Protect My Ministry Web Form to the applicant, asking them to complete the online background check form.
    3. The church will receive an email when the background check is complete and the requirements will be visible in FellowshipOne. They can then check off the 'Protect My Ministry Status' requirement in the volunteer application and the individual can be moved forward in the Volunteer Pipeline Workflow.
Additional Comments
Note: The submitted by username is preconfigured by Protect My Ministry and does not reflect the portal user who submitted the background check.
