Note: MagTek check scanners were previously approved hardware but have been removed from the FellowshipOne Hardware Guide because they are no longer manufactured. While some MagTek models may still function, they are not officially supported. View the current FellowshipOne Premier Hardware Guide here.

Check Scanning Problems
If when scanning a check the check image does not appear or the account, routing, & reference numbers do not appear in FellowshipOne Contributions, there are several steps to try:
-
Ensure that only the Magtek MTMicrImage OCX is installed by checking Program & Features. If any other Magtek applications are installed, remove all of them including the MTMicrImage OCX & remove FellowshipOne Contributions. Then reinstall the Contributions application which will in turn reinstall the correct Magtek MTMicrImage OCX.
-
Ensure that you are using the correct cable connection to the MagTek scanner. Contributions only supports the Magtek MICRImage Serial Cable (Part#: 22410302) & if a USB connection is need then the Keyspan USB Serial Adapter (Part#: USA-19HS). Contributions does not support using the MagTek MICRImage USB Cable.
-
Ensure that all cables are plugged in tightly. Often the cable that attaches to the back of the MagTek scanner which has two screws needs to be taken off, reattached & tightened.
-
Ensure that it is not an issue with the check. It is possible at times to see band checks or checks from a particular bank that has issues with the magnetic information at the bottom of the check so the account & Routing information does not get read properly. The easiest way to test this is to scan a check from a different banking institution. It may also be helpful to keep a voided check that you know works as a test check.
-
If using the Keyspan adapter ensure that the Keyspan software is installed on the computer & the the Keyspan adapter appears in the Hardware window.
- If using the Keyspan adapter ensure that is is set to COM 3.
Returning the scanner
