If your scanner is not reading information from a check, first unplug & replug the cable on the back of the scanner:
- On back of scanner, unscrew the two long screws & unplug cable
- Wait two seconds, then plug cable back in & re-tighten screws
- Wait for green light on scanner & re-scan item
If that does not resolve the issue, check connection of scanner to computer:
- If connection for scanner is via a Keyspan adapter, use Keyspan Adapter Utility to verify that Keyspan adapter is set to COM3
- If connection to scanner is via serial port, use Windows Device Manager to verify serial connection is COM1
Note: Check to make sure that type was entered was Check (not Cash)
