Advanced People Search Tools

FellowshipOne is designed to help you quickly find and care for people using several powerful search options. Depending on what information you have, you can use a variety of search tools to locate individual records and take action from the results.

Available Search Options

  • People Search – Always available in the upper-right corner of FellowshipOne. Enter a name or partial name and press Enter.

  • Advanced Search – Go to People > Search > Find a Person. Use when you don’t know the exact spelling of a name or want to search by other details like address, communication values, or status.

  • People Query – Go to People > Search > People Query. Useful for filtering people by involvement, demographics, requirements, and more.

Using People Search

The People Search field is accessible from any screen in FellowshipOne. It lets you quickly pull up records using partial names. Unless specific formatting is used, FellowshipOne will return records where the first name, goes-by name, or last name begins with the text you enter.

Search by First or Goes-By Name

To search by first or goes-by name only, type a comma before the name:

  • Example: ,allen or , allen

Search by Last Name

To search by last name only, type a comma after the name:

  • Example: allen,

Hyphenated Names and Names with Spaces

Searching for names like Jane Smith-Jones may not return results when searching by "Jones" because the system looks for names that begin with what you enter. Instead:

  • Search for the first part of the name: smith

  • Use curly braces to search by name content:

    • Example: jane {jones} or {jones}, jane

This also works for names with spaces:

  • Example: {betty s} ward or ward, {b sue}

  • Example: mar {de la} or {de la}, mar

You can also use the % symbol to connect names:

  • Example: Mary%Ann will match "Mary Ann"
