Delete an individual record

FellowshipOne does not allow individual records to be deleted outright. However, you can effectively remove someone from your database by merging their record into a fictitious record, such as a “Recycle Bin.”

⚠️ Warning: Merges cannot be undone. Before proceeding, verify that the individual record does not contain any contributions or important data you wish to keep.

Steps to Remove an Individual Record:

  1. Create a placeholder record

    • Add a fictitious individual with a status such as Deceased.

    • Use a name like Recycle Bin to make it easily identifiable.

  2. Go to: People > Data Integrity > Merge Individual

  3. Set the Master Record

    • In the Master Record box, click Find Person and select the Recycle Bin record.

    • This is the record that will be retained after the merge.

  4. Select the Record to Remove

    • In the Duplicate Record box, click Find Person and locate the individual record you want to remove.

  5. Review and Merge

    • Review the side-by-side comparison of both records.

    • Make sure all radio buttons are selected in favor of the Recycle Bin record.

    • Click Merge Records to complete the process.

Tip: Add a household address and home phone number to the Recycle Bin record, such as the church’s address and main phone. These details will be retained after the merge.
